Steve Byrne
Steve is a graduate in Scottish Ethnology and recognised singer-scholar who is best known for his work with award-winning Scots folksong group Malinky. He will study modern perceptions of the Minstrelsy ballads, considering their singability and current place in the tradition particularly amongst fellow performers, resulting in a singer’s edition of selected Minstrelsy songs and accompanying CD recording. A fluent Scots and German speaker, he brings an interesting dual linguistic perspective to the team.
